Hi, My name is Daniel Harnish, I was born in Big Island, Hawaii, and moved to California.
I attended California School for the Deaf, Fremont, and graduated there in 1998.
After Graduated, I moved to New York and lived there for two years, and I volunteered as
a missionary to service for the church in New York. After returning home from my mission,
I went to two different community colleges between California and Utah.
I decided to go to
Ohlone College to study for ASL/Deaf Studies to received an Associate of Arts Degree and graduated there.
After that, I transferred to the Art Institute of Salt Lake City in Draper, Utah, to receive a Bachelor of
Science Degree in Digital Photography. I work a part-time job for FedEx Express and receiving benefits to
support my family. Someone told me High School needs a help and looking for ASL (American Sign Language)
Teacher to teach HS students.
I applied and taught there for a year and really enjoyed, immersion into
the ASL. We moved to Portland, Oregon and I applied PCC, Portland Community College to teach ASL
there for four years. I am married, I have a wife, and I have four children.
All are hearing
and CODA (Child of the Deaf Adult).
I am a current graduate student at Gallaudet University
for MASLED Program, Master in Sign Language Education.
